Rebuilding
our Small Business Community
The Downtown
Business Network was created immediately after 9/11 to
help revitalize the small business community of Lower Manhattan.
DBN encourages
downtown corporations, government agencies doing business downtown,
as well as small businesses themselves, to utilize the services
of our small businesses whenever possible. By keeping the flow
of business “in the neighborhood,” everyone can play a
vital role in regenerating the economic growth of Lower Manhattan.
This means new revenue, new jobs, new leases, and new vitality
to this part of the city.
In the few
years since 9/11, small businesses have finally started to show
signs of recovery. Thanks to support from the government and
private sectors, this community is coming out of “survival” and
into “growth” mode, ready to focus on the future
again. The ripple effect will benefit the entirety of downtown.
Any company that services small businesses — real estate,
retail, banking — should be benefiting in the short term.
We encourage
all companies and government agencies to refer to our ever-expanding
directory of downtown’s small businesses when choosing
a new supplier or professional consultancy. Feel free to call
upon any of the top caliber companies in this registry.
Supporting
small business supports everyone. We look forward to working
together to support the rebuilding of Lower Manhattan.
